Blouberg Beach is situated between Big Bay and Table View Beach. The corner of the beach has some great rock pools to explore. Many photographs are taken of Table Mountain from here, with the waves splashing over the rocks and the mountain in the background. From the beach you can look out into Table Bay as well as look back down the beach at Table View and Milnerton.

Wow when we stayed with our friends in Blouberg he told me how great the beach was but one has to see it for ones self. It is spotless and having Table Mountain in the back ground what more could one wish for. I just wish the sea had been warmer to swim in. There is plenty of parking and plenty of places across the road to have a meal whilst watching the waves.

Did a 5km walk along Blouberg Beach this morning and it was terrific. The Municipal workers were there sweeping up seaweed and raking the sand. Honestly Capetonians, I hope you appreciate how lucky you are to have these Municipal workers ensuring that the beaches remain beautiful!! The streets were clean and the street lights were working. Coming down from Johannesburg for a weekend makes us realise how lucky Cape Town is and how much we wish Johannesburg would take the same pride!! There must have been at least 40 surfers in the water and two guys on jet skis. This is living, not existing!!

The most fabulous experience about Blouberg Beach is to drive down to One Huisie for breakfast. After breakfast, when it is low tide, take a walk onto the island where the sea parts. It is so amazing to see the little kiddies playing in the rock pools on the island, the adults swimming in the sea, seals resting on the rocks and people with loads of packets collecting mussels - everyone having fun!! Make sure you get back to the main beach before high tide though!! Although there is a lot of kelp there each morning, the municipal staff do an awesome job of raking it away. I go to Blouberg Beach every time I visit Cape Town.

This beach is easily accessible and definitely for photographers who want to get the best photo of Cape Town and Table Mountain. I took a wonderful shot from Blouberg Beach and I treasure it. The beach itself is easily accessible, plenty of surfers going out to catch some waves. The water is rather icy but if you have a wetsuit it is perfect for surfing. The snow white sand is so clean it actually squeaks between your toes. A must stop if you are driving up to Paternoster or Langebaan.

Blouberg Beach is my fave place to bring first time visitors to. It has the most famous view of Table Mountain and everyone loves to take photographs there. There are ample parking and enough shops close by. Time to lie back, close your eyes and soak up the sun !
