On the few occasions that i've been there i must say it was great. The seats are a bit to small and can get a bit uncomfortable for long shows. But over all it good. I love the fact that is near to home and don't have to drive in the heart of pta or jhb to watch a good show!

I visit the Teatro quite often and always look forward to it.
When you are well informed, you therefore make a point of booking early enough to get preferred seats.

The seats are indeed uncomfortable when people need to pass you, very limited space.

Although the boxes are spacious, the view is very limited and I would not suggest you book a box.

The quality of shows I've seen, have been of international talent and international quality. If you're going to watch a comedy or musical play, etc, it's fine, however, I can safely say that I didn't enjoy a music concert at the Teatro. You are very confined to your chair and that's not how a music concert should be.

They do get the best shows and there is no way around that but I also found it rather cramped. And getting there on a Friday night can be a nightmare, something about that William Nicol off-ramp, its always chaos. But not bad o the whole, and if the best shows are there, thats where you've gotta be!

This venue has hosted many a talented shows, but the seating arrangement is very poor and not user friendly. It is cramped and the 1/2 the row of seated people have to wake up if even 1 person needs to get to their seat in the middle.

I believe only the best performances are show cased here. The theatre is amazing, the acoustics remarkable and the decor astounding.

I won tickets to Cats, a musical I have always loved. Unfortunately I didn't get to choose the seats and was placed directly in the middle. While the experience was wonderful and I will never forget it, I wasn't too happy with having to climb over everyone in order to get to the bathroom. The seats are very close and Monte could have sacrificed a few seats for a few isles making it easier for people to move. It was quite embarrassing especially when people could hardly move themselves in order for me to get past. It's a lovely theater, make no mistake, but awkward.

I have watched a few shows at the Teatro and have found all of them to be really fantastic. Well worth the money that you pay for the shows. The seats are comfortable and it doesnt matter where you sit, you will still have an amazing view of the stage!

We were privileged to be invited to watch "The Nut Cracker" and it was an incredible performance. The lead performer on the night suffered a severe cut after she accidentally slipped onto a blade but she continued performing...testimony to the level of professionalism. The theatre is amazing. Comfortable, modern and is of a world class standard. Parking may be an issue, as this place is really popular.

    Tip: get there early

Always enjoy watching a performance here. Everything runs smoothly. Agree with Mark regarding the bathrooms. Have to wait in long lines before performance and during the interval.

Having attended the superb "Phantom of the Opera" recently at the Teatro at Montecasino, I was impressed at what a magnificent theatre venue it is, visually reminiscent of all the grandeur of the Johannesburg Civic (in years gone by - it is a bit tatty around the edges nowadays), with all the functionality and more [In fact the interior of the theatre is so similar, the same dimensions and design may have been used ?) with one rather strange shortcoming ... the toilets...! In this sort of environment, it is inevitable that pressured periods - such as just before performance time and at intervals need to be well catered for ... and the capacity in place is simply inadequate ??? (Seems relatively easy to sort out ?)
