Situated only a few minutes drive from the FIFA™ and team hotels in Bloemfontein, the Free State Stadium is a dedicated sporting environment with ample parking and excellent corporate hospitality. The Free State Stadium will host 5 first-round matches and 1 second-round match of the 2010 World Cup.

Since we were in Bloemfontein on business the guys wanted to see the Free State Stadium in At Horak Street. What was impressive was that the cricket stadium, hockey grounds and swimming pool are all within a 1km radius. This stadium is the home of the Vodacom Cheetahs and Free State Rugby. It has the capacity to hold nearly 37000 people, 17000 of them under cover. It is 10 km from the airport, has plenty of parking, is well maintained and is used mainly for rugby union and football association games.

I have not missed a rugby match on this stadium! It is one of the safest stadiums I have been to (and I have been everywhere). It is SUPER clean and there are many little stalls to buy food and drinks at. I watched the international soccer matches these last few weeks and were glad to see that there was extra security and assistants to show people where their seats are.

I didn't use their parking, but I parked in the waterfront and then there is a bridge that you can walk over to enter the stadium :)

England (1)vs Germany (4). Road tripped up to the stadium and had a spectacular time! The Bloem Celtic supporters were in full voice and added a great atmosphere. Refreshments and snacks are limited and expensive. But the stadium is easy to get to and close to franchise food chains.
